Team Mom Review: Bella Sara Minis

So I already told you how much Aidan enjoys Bella Sara cards. It's mostly in secret of course because apparently, horses are only for girls.
We had a new sending of Bella Sara stuff and even the info in the package said that these are cards for GIRLS.

Girls like horses, boys like...worms and baseball or something.
I mean really? Really?
As a feminist, I'm offended.

My boys liked this sending. They got new cards AND two nifty little horses on their own pedestals. Very cool. They were excited.

I wish that everyone in the toy business would give up on classifying toys and games as male and female. Especially when horses are involved. For instance, I'm a female and I hate horses. Hate them. They terrify me actually.
I'll tell you why in another post.

My boys love these cards and it makes me sad that they are ashamed to play with them or show them to their friends.
I just don't think that is right.

And I understand the idea behind marketing trading cards to girls but honestly, I know plenty of girls who collect Pokemon cards, my two nieces for example, and they do not feel the need to do it surreptitiously. What gives?

Here is a link to Bella Sara. It's a pretty nice place. Even for boys.

I am so with you on this one. My youngest son likes pink. He is 5 and it has been his favorite color since he was 2. Now a girl can pick any color in the rainbow and it is acceptable but my son mentions what his favorite color is and EVERYONE raises an eyebrow; from the adults in his life to the little girl in his kindergarten class. It is so unfair!
