I'm Not Going to Look at Zillow Anymore

Because according to them, my house has depreciated by...oh about $125,000 in less than two years.

Yikes.

That sucks.

Of course Mr. Obama's plan wouldn't help me anyway since we are still paying our mortgage on time.

Why is it that all these "bailouts" seems to be helping the people who screwed up and not the ones who tried to do things right?

Blah.

I am in the same boat.

I thought that under his plan, you could refinance if you are under water.

I plan to call Countrywide in two weeks to find out.

From what I saw, you can only do it if you are severely behind on your payments. They don't care if you are underwater, just whether you are delinquent.

Yes, it all upsets me so very much.

We got an awesome deal on our new home. Paid 240,000 for a 350,000 house. We pay our mortgage on time. We have excellent credit scores. My husband works and gets 45% of his paycheck taken immediately away for taxes and then pays a ton so we can have health care. And his contribution just went up another 110 bucks a month.

We scrimped and saved to put down half of what this house cost and financed the rest. OUr mortgage co. approved us for a 750,000 loan, but we knew better. We just scrape by as it is.

We won't even get a tax refund, much less a stimulus check. But my SIL will. She's 40,000 dollars in credit card debt and can't pay her mortgage or utilities because she and her "husband" have decided against working because they want to be home 24/7 for their kids. Their kids who are in school nine hours a day.

I don't want money just for a hand out, but it sure would be nice if we could get some sort of tax break for doing things the right way and NOT screwing up. Aren't we supposed to reward the good behavior?
