Beck was kind enough to award me with a coveted Thinking Blogger Award.
Woot! I'm so honored. Believe me, I'm doing a little happy dance inside. I'm especially thrilled that it came from Beck, she's a delicate, unique snowflake (her words) from Canada whose writing truly inspires me. I'm serious here, every time I think I have written something half way decent here on my blog, I cruise over to hers and say, "Damn! That girl can write.". I'm not the only one who thinks so. This woman consistently get at least 20 comments on each of her posts. She gets us all thinking. Beck is one of those bloggers that pushes me to improve what I'm trying to do here on my humble little blog.
Here's what she said about me: She's [me] just consistently so interesting and has such a spectrum of things that she writes about - parenting special needs kids, adoption, books - that there's always something new to think about.
Now I'm blushing.
Thanks so much Beck. I know you read a lot of blogs out there. It is truly an honor to be chosen by you.
And now on to the challenge. It is now my responsibility to present this award to five bloggers of my choosing. Talk about pressure. I mean really, there's so many good ones out there. How can you decide?
Ok here goes:
1. Patti at It's Just Me is a Mom to two little boys just like me. Her youngest has a limb difference similar to Riley's. Gee, even our blog titles are similar. But her take on life, love, religion and friendship truly makes me think. Honestly, I have never met a more upbeat person. This woman walks the walk every day. AND she's an amazingly talented photographer. She inspires me and she always makes me stop and think.
2. Mia at Mia's Saving Graceis an adoptee in reunion who is dealing with issues of contact denial with her first family. She is a woman struggling to come to terms with things beyond her control while still maintaining her dignity. Her blog is a mixture of pain, pride and endurance. Mia, you are so worth it. Don't give up.
3. Joy at Joy's Division is another adoptee whose blog I recently discovered and boy, does this woman know how to write. Joy, I know you don't know me but your writing has made a difference in my life.
4. Laura at Nate Nate Rollerskate is a woman I am proud to call my blogosphere friend. She's witty, ironic, articulate and bright. She's also a mother in mourning struggling to make sense of the loss of her precious boy. Her writing makes me feel the spectrum of emotion and she always makes me think. I miss you, friend.
5. Jessica at Oh, The Joys has probably already received this award but I'm going to give it to her again because she's just that freakin' good. Her use of onomatopoeia like Bow Chicka Bow Bow! says it all. More importantly, she writes from the heart about the things that mean the most.
